When her schedule allows, Ingrid performs with the Concord Chamber Orchestra. Ingrid is a member of Music Teachers National Association. In 2011, Ms. Hanson-Popp was thrilled to appear as soloist with the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, performing Grieg's Piano Concerto and Liszt's dramatic Totentanz. She received her Master’s degree in piano performance from Roosevelt University, studying with Ludmila Lazar, and her Bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Northern Illinois University, studying with Donald Walker, the Artist-in-Residence.
In 2012, Ingrid released When Love Touched the World, a delightful mix of Christmas selections performed with soprano and harpist! In 2010 she completed two recordings: Debut, with her trio, and Around the World on 88 Keys, her first solo work. In 2014, she hopes to release A Time to Dance, exploring the theme of movement. "So what is Dropped Pencil?"
You may well ask that question.
When my husband was growing up, he used to draw pictures in church using a regular pew pencil, complete with those occasional pencil-usage accidents that served to break particularly silent moments in the service.
Now a days, whenever we hear the sound of a pencil hitting the floor, we can't help but smile at each other, thinking back to those early creative moments. When it came time to launch our creative media company, Dropped Pencil seemed the obvious choice!"
